Aftershocks II

No one likes bad newseven the bearer of bad news. Today would make it the last installment of the year after 2020 posts. Last year’s post was entitled Aftershocks and no one likes aftershocks either. The last time I experienced being in an earthquake was in fourth grade and it’s definitely one of those things I would rather not experience again. The big earthquake in 2020 was the blatant power grab.

If we are to give validity to Comrade Biden’s popularity claim, it means there were a lot of people who truly believed things were going to turn out for the better once he got in, even some professing Christians. God granted their desire, even as some knew what the administration’s platform stood for, against righteousness. Like the unfortunate account of Saul, God gave the people what they wanted. Some have realized the error of having voted for the man, but the consequences are surely here to stay. The developments of more oppressive laws and mandates are the aftershocks.

These very same aftershocks have already awakened people who were comfortable in their spiritual slumber.

Deeds and erroneous beliefs unfit for someone who professes to be a child of the Light have to be swept away. Repent!

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

James 4:4

The refinement is in preparation for His return.

“Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace—spotless and blameless in His sight.

2 Peter 3:14

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28
