Aim To Pass The Test

“While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

The enemy lurks in the field.

“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.

They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away – Everyone in the field, which is the world (Matthew 13:38) is being tested. Some of our brothers and sisters are being killed for their faith. Some are being sued repeatedly to be made an example of because they will not compromise their convictions to the pressures of the transgender agenda, in effect being financially drained, while some are being mentally and spiritually oppressed. Some of us have health issues combined with repeated mental and spiritual attacks. Jesus warns us here of the eventual outcome of those who are NOT rooted in Him – they will abandon the faith.

Whatever it is you may be going through, do not listen to the thoughts that the enemy is planting in your mind that God has abandoned you.

“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1 Peter 5:9

God does not abandon us (1 Corinthians 1:9, Hebrews 13:5). Throwing the towel is not an option for a believer who is indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Luke 22:32).

15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Luke 8:4-8, 11-15

Cling to His promises and persevere.
