Anatomy Of A Passion Vine

“In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And his children will have refuge.”

Proverbs 14:26

“One who is steadfast in righteousness attains life, But one who pursues evil attains his own death.

Proverbs 11:19

“One with a wayward heart will have his fill of his own ways, But a good person will be satisfied with his.”

Proverbs 14:14

“Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked, but those who heed it resist them.”

Proverbs 28:4

How sad it is to witness those who shepherd a flock, claim to love Jesus Christ and yet have a disdain for those who hold to Scripture, the recorded teachings of Jesus Christ and counsel of God. If your passion is for the things and cause of this world so much so that you will compromise truth, you have abandoned Him (Revelation 2:4-5).

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:29-31

You cannot do the second if you sidestep the first. Reversing the order equates to idolatry.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
