Beware Of The New Age Gospel

There is definitely a void in the Evangelical churches to counteract the proliferation of false teachings (2 Timothy 4:3-4). The Bible warns us this is to be expected. Having my own brush with New Age before I met the Lord, it is disheartening to see professing Christians by the droves easily buy into the feel good positive lingo (found in Joel Osteen) of this movement.

The main keywords prevalent in New Age are Consciousness, The Inner voice, Positive Energy, The Power within, The God in You -(there is a HUGE difference between being indwelt by the Holy Spirit and this one). When people hear these words coupled with Christian terminology, RUN!!! New Age Philosophy is syncretized and pushed in mainstream media most specially by Oprah who purports to be Christian, and she furthers these subjective teachings from her New Age gurus (Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, to mention a few) to her target audience, women (notice Satan deceived Eve), Christian mothers who unsuspectingly buy into the lie. If we line it up with what God revealed to us in Scripture, these so-called Christians bear the spirit of the antichrist for which we are warned about in 1 John 4:1-3,

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

and Romans 16:17,

“I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned (The Gospel). Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.”

The Jesus of the New Age Movement is not the same Jesus in the Judeo-Christian Bible. Our Jesus is God incarnate – God in the flesh, while their Jesus is only an enlightened one likening him to Buddha. New Agers grab teachings from every religion and believe there are many paths to heaven which obviously contradict with what Jesus emphatically said in John 14:6,

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Beware of those who sound Christian but refuse to acknowledge that Jesus is the Messiah, the ONLY way and those who want to unite all religions (Ecumenical Movement). Not all who claim to call on God is calling on The One True GOD (Matthew 7:21). Beware also of those who claim to have prophetic visions which do not line up with what is already revealed to us in Scripture.

Just because people say all the right things doesn’t mean they are your friend “spiritually” speaking. New Age feel good vibes are so intoxicating you just want more and before you know it, one can get easily entangled into the miry pit of “Christian Wicca”, Astrology, which falls into divination and is detestable to God (Deuteronomy 18:9-13) and Yoga syncretized with Christianity.

We must remember the enemy plants weeds within the Body of Christ for the very purpose of deceiving people, especially new believers.

[…] While people are falling for a movement called the Great Awakening (also seen in the QAnon movement), what is highly suspect about this is that although it is tied to a political movement, many Christians (I know people who are into this) are unsuspectingly being in cahoots with New Agers. The quote below is derived from an article entitled “The Great Awakening of 2020: What you need to know“ rife with New Age vibes and lingo. […]
