Curious Cat

There was something about the design of my first DIY hummingbird feeder that the birds didn’t like. It appears these things are used to cylinder shaped feeders. I wasn’t going to scrap the whole thing so I decided to incorporate my faux flower idea into the storebought feeder. I also replaced the clear plastic with a Perrier bottle and it worked! I wanted to add an element of uniqueness to the generic feeder. The visitor actually stayed a bit longer to drink this morning. It looked like it was scoping the feeder and the surroundings.

While I was out in the backyard minding my own business and trying to take a picture of the Black Ball Bachelor buttons…

… this kawaii kitty was scoping out what I was up to. What an adorable thing! It’s cute when it’s an animal that does it, but isn’t it interesting that when a person does this, it’s kinda strange?

It’s funny how this cat did exactly what the dog did some weeks ago.

Look at those eyes… Speaking of eyes, somebody is always watching. I’m not talking about the creepy surveillance thing, although this would make for an interesting topic on its own, but I’m talking about how even when the world seems to be hostile to Christians, there will always be those who are curious. Knowing that people are always watching, people-pleasing is a snare (Proverbs 29:25, James 4:4). It is good to be reminded that the One we represent was shamed and despised for our sake.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2

May we all represent Him well, and when all deeds are brought into the light, may we not be ashamed in His presence.

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Galatians 1:10
