I am still in the Sunshine state but my sun is setting out of FL. It hit me today when my family took the first step of selling our bedroom set. We thought of doing that yesterday and with God’s help, it sold within 24 hours. Definitely one of those ‘God opening doors’ moment. It seems our days here are numbered.
Moving in December? Who’d do that? If everything goes according to plan, I will be spending my Christmas in a winter wonderland after 10 years of perpetual Summer. The suckiest part would be driving for 44 hours (not straight of course!) It would have been nice if I would be able to sit with my husband in the moving truck but sadly, he will be hauling my car so I will have to drive his car.
The longest I’ve driven is close to 2 hours (yeah, kinda pathetic really) one way and I will have to drive 10 hours a day for four days in some parts where there might be snowy and icy roads… I am quite scared. It is exciting to go live in a new place but I’m dreading the journey to get there… If it were Summer, it would probably be different. It’s quite ironic really since I’m leaving FL and I must admit I am getting sad.
And another thing, packing sucks. I haven’t been getting enough sleep lately and I should be crying out to the Lord more than ever. It reminds me of the apostles’ account in (Mark 4:35-39 – parallel found also in Luke 8:22-25) when Jesus told them, “Let us go over to the other side.” A storm broke out in the middle of the crossing and they were so scared they said to Him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” I am definitely scared but if God wants to move my family to the polar opposite of where we are now during potential snow storm season, I have to put my faith in God that when He says, “Cross to the other side,” He is always there with us. After all, He is Immanuel.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It’s a new adventure, though yes, driving in weather is scary. We had our first snowstorm here in NW Ohio, started last night and just ended. The Lord will watch over you!
Thank You, Maria. Saw the news today and this family driving to Oregon got stuck in the snow. That’s where we’re going! But yes, I have faith in God. Again, thank you for the encouraging words.
Caeli, I think we saw this. Their gps led them wrong. Perhaps there is a lesson in that. Be careful – I know you’re already praying.
