Horoscope: An Open Door

Being delivered from Astrology happens to be part of my testimony. Some people read it more religiously than they do their Bible (I used to do this before I met the Lord) and considered to be harmless, sadly even by Christians. Ever felt defeated in your Christian walk? By walk, I mean the one that is unseen by those who view your life through a screen.

If you cannot do without reading your daily astrological forecast, know that you have a door wide open to the enemy. The fact that you have the compulsion to read it makes it a stronghold and can be likened to the effect of a person who must have a controlled substance or anyone who cannot go a day without having to smoke a cigarette.

Occult Practices

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 18:9-13

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.”

Leviticus 19:31

The horoscope you are reading is put out there by an astrologer, an interpreter of omens. If you still think it is harmless, you need to reassess your commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

“You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

1 Corinthians 10:21

Before anyone makes excuses and constrain the verse above to its context of having to do with food sacrificed to idols, it is a plain declaration with application that cannot be denied. It is the same as saying you are a follower of Christ and at the same time thinking it is okay to do satanic practices.

Now that you know, you can no longer invoke ignorance as an excuse. You have a choice to make. Repent and you will be forgiven.

“Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Isaiah 55:7

    1. Thank you, brother! I have completely forgotten about this until I read a Christian talk about this in a trivial manner today. It is a lure to the unsuspecting especially to those who are gripped by depression.

  1. A person who professes Christianity and at the same time dabbles with New Age or with some occultic practices brings these verses to mind:

    Exodus 32:2-5
2 Aaron said to them, “Have your wives, sons, and daughters take off the gold earrings they are wearing, and bring them to me.”

3 So all the people took off their gold earrings and handed them to Aaron. 4 After he had worked on the gold with a tool, he made it into a statue of a calf.

Then they said, “Israel, here are your gods who brought you out of Egypt.”

5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of it and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival in the Lord’s honor.”

Aaron, who was responsible for keeping the people in order [not going astray], is the main one who toppled their faith into full-blown idolatry. If Moses would not have intervened [asked God for mercy on his behalf] for his brother Aaron, he would have been out of gas because God was angry enough to put him to death.

    1. Yeah. Just glad we happen to live in a time of grace, though constantly abusing God’s patience should be avoided at all cost as we heap much dreaded discipline.

  2. People often turn to astrology to figure out their future. So there’s no separation from fortune telling or witchcraft actually. I don’t know many Christians who still do this, many have been delivered from these like you have: through knowledge of the power of the Holy Spirit. We must put our trust totally in God alone. No one else knows our future!

    1. “We must put our trust totally in God alone. No one else knows our future!”

Amen to this. However, we can know in general what happens in the future like the Mark of the beast for an example, but this Astrology is like an instant gratification and a counterfeit to hearing from God.

Remember King Saul? (1 Samuel 28:3-6)

He did not get an immediate answer from the LORD so what did he do? He went to a medium.
