We just passed through a heat wave. The temperatures hit over 110 degrees here over the past few days and thankfully, it’s over for now. The best thing to do was just stay in the house which worked out since my main computer needed to get fixed anyway. It stopped working on Sunday and got restored to working order late last night.
This giant Allium flower was taken during our visit to UT. It happened to be really hot that day. My smaller Allium (Chives) flowers are almost dried up from the heat wave, but I got to harvest seeds which I’m planning on sowing into some pots. They’ll mainly be for consumption since the ones I have in the backyard when sown from seed, did not start to flower until the second year. Ever since I put Chives in my omelet, there’s no going back.
Does this Scrub-Jay look like it’s burying a peanut? I haven’t been keeping count as to how many different species of birds I’ve seen. Being born in the tropics, I am more of a fish person, really. They are so colorful. Besides Koi, my favorite used to be a green ombre-colored fish from the coral reef.
This bird looks pensive. I wonder what this bird is thinking… lunch? what’s for dinner? or lemme fly to that tree over there?
To the tree it went and apparently, it had stuff to deal with.
This one happens to be my favorite picture out of the set. The pine cones somewhat adds a Christmas feel to it.
“In the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.”
