Hurricane Matthew: Just Passing Through

Around 9 AM, Central FL

My sister called yesterday and told me my family needed to evacuate FL and drive all the way up north to where she is because of Hurricane Matthew. Since she’s in the military, my initial reaction was, “Really… Do you know something we don’t?” She said she heard the governor of FL make an emphatic statement to Floridians on CNN (I don’t watch CNN) to quickly evacuate but he’s directing it to people who are in the projected path of the hurricane. Thankfully, we are in Central FL and looking at some projections online, it seems we are in the clear as the hurricane’s path looks to be coastal. I’m not sure where the storm is supposed to be hitting as of this moment but I can definitely hear the rustling of the trees.

The trees behind this one are making that pleasant rustling sound

I see storm clouds thickening but just passing through. It’s not raining hard either but just a light sprinkle as of 9 AM. It sucks that my husband had to go to work. If this hurricane was indeed going to intensely affect our area, I think he would have been informed about not going to work today before he came home from work yesterday. I sure hope that this one somehow decreases in intensity before it wreaks havoc in other places as it already did a lot of damage in Cuba and Haiti. It’s projected to be a Category 4 here in the US.

As for now, the skies are enveloped in gray but it seems pretty serene for a stormy day.
The only thing we can do is pray for this hurricane to go away.

Happy Friday anyway!

“And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

  1. Happy Friday to you also, and prayers that the storm does not turn!

    1. Amen to that Brother. The storm clouds are actually getting darker and the gusts are getting a bit louder but no rain. Hopefully, it will do the same like the other storm that passed not too long ago. Thank You for your prayers.
