In God We Trust

I hold to the scenario that only God-fearing men such as the founding fathers could produce such a document like the Constitution to envision and ensure that the citizens have the fundamental rights afforded in it, unmatched by any other country in the world. Some may challenge this but it has been the status quo for decades that people from all over the world desire to immigrate to the United States even now in search of green pastures. Interestingly, this expression can be found in Psalm 23:2a, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures.”

The beautiful detail of a Two-dollar bill.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

Psalm 33:12

This country, like any other country has its history of good and bad, but it remains to be charitable even to countries that condemn it and seek for its destruction. It has also been a refuge for those who have escaped war-torn countries. The United States has been richly blessed by God but the tide is turning.

We cannot continue to believe this country will remain to be blessed and prosperous as people with nefarious agenda laboriously work to topple any godly influence. We now have a generation who cries to toss the very foundation which caused this country to prosper. As the years progress, we see the culmination of rebellion and the rising tide of intolerance to all things pertaining to the Judeo-Christian God. Even those who claim membership in the church tell those who bring this to light to be suffering from ‘Christian martyr’s complex.’

You Cannot Serve God and Riches

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

Matthew 6:24

It appears the ‘God’ mentioned in our currency has been taken over by mammon. Some who call themselves ministers of Christ make merchandise out of the gospel and deceive many. Sadly, the most influential ones happen to be coming from the United States. Can we change our course? Pronouncement of destruction has been reversed because the people repented collectively as evidenced in the book of Jonah. While the sun continues to shine, there is always hope. However, we also have to take into account that we are living in times where people increasingly no longer tolerate sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3), let alone Christianity.

Most Christians are curious as to why America is not spoken of in Bible prophecy when it is Israel’s primary ally. People can theorize but like all things, only time is the revealer.

  1. “In God we trust”
    “One Nation Under God”

Possessing such foundational principles, beliefs, core values or mantras is why this nation will be held to a higher standard. It appears in so many ways that as a nation, we’ve drifted, but individually, we can choose to still hold fast to this faith, these beliefs and the word of God from which they come!

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of [a]the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord….Joshua 24:14-15

  2. […] With things looking so uncertain, all of us hope and wish for good things. We also must not neglect to prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally and most especially spiritually in the event that God allows us to go through intense persecution and tribulation to show His glory perfected in us through endurance (James 1:2-4). 2 Thessalonians 2 in the NKJV has this heading, The Great Apostasy. Why? Because things will get even harder. The Word of God teaches us in 2 Timothy 4:3, […]
