Itching Ears Alert

False Teachers and the Love of Money

These are the things you are to teach and insist on. 3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1 Timothy 6:3-10

people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain – I will say it again and again, watch out for phonies. They are easy to spot. To them, “It’s all about the Benjamins.”

“Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.

Proverbs 10:2

They cannot preach God’s Word without the need for compensation in some way or form. They work hard for people to follow them so that they can sell their stuff to you. You would think this type of behavior is reserved for people over at TBN. I do not rule out the miraculous, but the Lord is clear in Matthew 16:4,

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign…”

Any professing believer whose main focus is on signs and wonders is in great danger of being taken by these spiritual charlatans. We are also warned over at 2 Thessalonians 2:9,

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders”

Most Bible-abiding Christians believe the imminent return of Jesus and as always, your only protection to not be swept away is to be familiar with God’s Word. The truth is, the phonies are responsible in bringing confusion to the believers with their lying signs and wonders and fabricated stories (2 Peter 2:2-4, Jude 1:19). I could think of many I’ve seen on youtube and some here, who now have to explain themselves on their false prophecies as they try to deflect their foible on others.

BEWARE!

P.S. God allows defeat for believers so they can loosen their grip on this world and really look to HIM and HIM alone as their Savior.

JESUS is coming soon!
