Esau Sells His Birthright

“Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom.

31 But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”

32 And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”

33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.”

So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”

Genesis 25:29-34 NKJV

It is a sad account about Esau losing his birthright over a stew of lentils. We all can relate to trading something that’s worth much more for something that’s trivial and fleeting. This post however, will not be tackling a spiritual implication, but one of trading our liberties of enjoying protein from meat products in exchange for bugs. The Novus Ordo Seclorum would rather have the people of the world get used to eating insects (Entomophagy).

It sounds like some cruel joke, but when people have a god complex, they want to regulate everything from what one thinks, every transaction a citizen of the world makes, down to the very detail of what you put in your mouth! If that sounds like utopia, instead of saying “Yay!” I’m definitely saying Yikes! If Dr. Ardis’ postulation turns out to be true, then maybe coaxing people to eat bugs can be logical. Reptiles and amphibians are close enough. If this kind of future does not make you look forward to the Rapture, I’d certainly opt for lentils than eating dung beetles or whatever the bug du jour offering is. Lentil stew is cheap, easy to make and two 16 oz bags can last for 3-4 days.

No one knows when Jesus will come to take His bride and how much of the formation of the New World we are going to have to endure and be subjected to, but if you happen to be a believer and striving to live and walk in the Spirit, God promises to take care of you.

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Psalm 50:15 NKJV
