Not Quite There Yet

Just a little bit longer until it bears more seeds

The moment we put our faith in Jesus, it starts out like a seed planted into the ground. It takes a lot of time for it to mature. Some are consistent. Some are stunted. Some succumb to the weather. Some look completely dead but come back alive. That is the miracle of life; life in Christ that is. As long as the sun shines, there’s always hope. Full maturity into the likeness of Christ occurs the moment He comes back, when we are freed from this corruptible body.

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 3:12-14

An apostle said, “I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.” Likewise, ALL of us are far from being complete! Jesus did give us an illustration that there are those who strive to keep their lamps burning and also those who pay no attention to the times (Matthew 25:1-13). Everything may seem normal right now but it all could change.

If the Lord were to demand your life today, will you be found ready?
