Our Battle Unseen

THERE ARE NO PERFECT CHRISTIANS just as there are no perfect people. However, there are Christians who are more defeated than others. Defeat becomes inevitable when we give more credence to doubt than to what is defined. We are ALL susceptible to the enemy’s tactic of doubt on the Word of God which he used on Eve since the beginning of time and he constantly uses it to introduce different arguments, ideologies, philosophies and false religion because it is effective.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

James 1:5-8

“Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Hebrews 11:6

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1

The Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. | For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”

Ephesians 6:10-17 | 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

flaming arrows – Do a spiritual inventory and if you could, trace back to when you first became a believer in Christ.

  • Which thoughts barrage your mind and keep you from walking in God’s will?
  • What ideas do you hold that prevent you from fully trusting God’s Word?

Then, there are those thoughts you wouldn’t normally think coming out of nowhere. These can come up any time and also during prayer.

When we disregard God’s Word, we run on arrogance – confidence rooted in the self which ends in defeat. When we stay IN the Word, we can run with boldness through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

To go with Doubt or the Defined/Truth,
Arrogance or Boldness?
As always, there’s that word – C H O I C E
