Exactly a week ago, the governor of Oregon issued the “Stay Home, Save Lives” executive order. My family managed to visit an isolated State Park before we even knew this thing was imposed. We found out about it later that day. We had no dealings with the general public except for the four of us since the place was literally out by the boonies. It was gray that day but the sun occasionally peeked. Nature and its beauty remained the same except for the eerie vibe of uncertainty in the air. If you looked up Coronavirus, WebMD says it is mainly a “common” virus that attacks the respiratory system and most respiratory bugs are airborne since inhalation is part of the equation. There appears to be something drastically different with this one since it has warranted mandatory state lockdowns.
Is it wrong to be around trees for fresh air where barely anyone is around or is the invisible intruder freely roaming in the air itself? Since we got ahold of toilet paper, we have not gotten out much except to the store which is still allowed per the OR Covid-19 guideline for safety.
This was the view at the end of the wooden bridge pathway and opposite this view was a message a previous visitor left …
This is more or less a paraphrase for this verse,
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”
2 Corinthians 5:10
The good news is that our salvation does not depend on our deeds but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. However, for this to take effect in one’s life, they must accept Jesus’ atonement for their sins. The proof of our salvation becomes evident in our deeds whether evident or secret.
Before God brings about judgment, He gets people’s attention through different means. Will you choose to continue in the deeds of darkness (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Colossians 3:5, Revelation 22:15) or will you choose to live in the light?
I wish I could visit that beautiful isolated place.
We didn’t stay there long Ma. It rained earlier that day.
The park aside from being isolated appears serene, due to the order issued by the governor to stay at home, which you were not aware of earlier. Was the park free from biting insects? I wish I still have a chance to visit it.
The park was away from the city and most of the people concentrated on their quest to find toilet paper. The park probably had biting insects but we were in coats. It was in the 40’s that day.
If God wills that you can visit here again if the US does not impose any incoming travel ban, we will definitely take you there. We miss you Ma… I wish we could all be together at this time.
