I awoke to a dream with an end-time scenario yesterday. Though I didn’t jump to write about it, it was clearly ruminating in my head. The dream showed a person who was taken out of a disaster zone but inquired a high-ranking officer if it were possible to go back so that the person can get more stuff that were left behind. The officer then said it was not possible because the area was set for destruction.

31 In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Luke 17:31-33

It showed another scenario where someone was meant to put their signature on paper. It appeared the person was among the last to be waited on since the person had reservations in signing the paper and was not fully on board with what was going on. It didn’t reveal what was happening behind the scenes in great detail but the one soliciting the signature was losing patience and morphed into something else. Whatever was going on was deceptive as the signature solicitor showed some signs of demonic possession and tried to taunt the person who wouldn’t sign the paper who rebuked the solicitor in the name of Jesus. It appeared to just be a regular person but it revealed something sinister was behind the whole operation. Signing the paper meant pledging allegiance.

And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.”

Luke 17:26-30

until the day that Noah entered the ark | but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all – This shows us a great deal about God delivering those who belong to Him from the day of destruction.  This is a picture of the Rapture.

I find the irony and timing of the dream to be bittersweet because yesterday happened to be a milestone for my son- someone whom I delight in and would have been robbed of knowing had I listened to a stranger who told me to abort him when he was still in my womb. Some Christians do not look forward to the return of Jesus Christ because how easy it is we can get blindsided when our desires are diverted to the now and the things of this world, seeing our loved ones develop and branch out on their own- to be able to see more milestones, grandchildren etc. These are not bad things but when we lose our interest in the things of God because of this- some go against Scripture to rationalize and deny the reality of the mark of the beast, this becomes a reason to abandon our “first love” (Revelation 2:4-5). What is written will come to pass. Denial of this biblical truth is a willful decision to reject what God has revealed.

Do you or anyone you know pick and choose what is or what isn’t true in God’s Word? While there is time, set things in order by making sure you are not just a hearer of God’s Word but also a doer. He does not expect any of us to be perfect. None of the biblical figures were. Do not neglect to minister to those who are in your own household. Most of all, do not let deception (self-deception is the worst kind which translates to repeatedly ignoring or being dead to the conviction of the Holy Spirit which can lead to the unpardonable sin) rob you of eternity.
