Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.

Matthew 10:16

… be shrewd as serpents – I personally don’t like snakes nor would I consider having one for a pet, but these creatures are cunning, subtle, yet effective.

… innocent as doves – The last thing in our minds when we see them is the word dangerous. They are not predators.

Employ the strategy of a serpent without actually becoming one. A Christian has to be civil, but not spineless.

I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! 16 So because you are lukewarm— neither hot nor cold— I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!

Revelation 3:15-16

How can we be pleasing to Jesus Christ? By choosing a side- His side by taking a stand. Neutrality motivated by fear and the backlash of man (Proverbs 29:25) is something that is considered disgusting to the point that it has to be vomited.

When the world tells you to take a knee, God asks you to take a stand.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7
