I don’t want this to be about me, but the nature of a testimony makes it inevitable not to say ‘I’ all the time. By now, I am sure you have gotten accustomed to seeing the same place mat and cup. Even drinking from a cup labeled truth has become a symbol. Countless times, I have invited you to my dinner table. Soy sauce is a must. It adds more flavor to the food.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

Matthew 5:13

Today’s brunch was very satisfying. Corn muffins, egg & cheese omelette and bacon. In this household, we are ‘pig-eating gentiles.’ This is a joke from an Israeli brother in Christ that always makes me laugh since this pig-eating gentile knows I’ve been sanctified and justified in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:11). We know God’s thoughts about this when He told Peter in a vision in Acts 10:15, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” Another supporting verse that brings more clarity to those who avoid bacon for religious reasons is Matthew 15:11,

“A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it.”

Now on to the “meat” of this post…

Warning Against Falling Away

11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 5:11-14

In the lateness of the hour, we do not have time to put our faith walk to the side like we have all the time in the world. It is time to get serious. We do not know the exact time the Groom returns, but He expects us to always keep watch so that we may not be left behind (Matthew 25:1-13).

Jesus is coming soon.

So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12
