If only His stripes were as pleasant as these colors…

The stripes Jesus received for the sake of all humanity marred Him beyond recognition.

“Just as there were many who were appalled at him — his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness–“

Isaiah 52:14

The stripes of agony bore the blood that covers us from the brunt of God’s wrath (1 John 1:7). Whether you believe it or not, He died to redeem you from the curse. In this way, receiving His atonement rests on every person to make the choice.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:12-13

His heart breaks when He extends the gift that is beyond anything anyone could ever afford to pay, only to be deemed worthless, when one chooses the path of destruction (Hebrews 10:29, Ezekiel 18:23).

“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

John 10:18

He IS God in the flesh (John 1:1, John 1:14). It didn’t end in death. HE IS RISEN! Death has no power over Him (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;”

John 11:25

Will you choose eternal life?
