The High Calling

Knowing it has thorns, we still appreciate its beauty.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

John 1:47

What an awesome thing to get a compliment from the Son of God! Nathanael was commended for his integrity. Our testimonies bear witness to the wretched lives we used to live before our encounter with Jesus. As His followers, there is no need to hide when we choose to walk in integrity. The only expectation we have is people coming to grips with who we REALLY are.

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.

Proverbs 11:3

The Lord Jesus Christ is the embodiment of truth and we are to strive for nothing less. This is possible not by our own efforts but through living the Spirit-filled life, the high calling to reflect Christ in us at a much needed time- when the light of truth is growing dim.

“Blessed is the man
to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.”

Psalm 32:2
