The Sea Of Lost Souls

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

Galatians 1:6-9

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4

I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.

2 John 1:7-11

Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you.'”

Matthew 24:4

  1. Sometimes you don’t realize you’ve been deceived until “many many moons” as the saying goes. I spent 20+ years in the presence of someone I thought was a Christian. It was due to a small argument that my eyes were opened. But I don’t blame them… I was a young Christian when the friendship started so I didn’t know what to look for, although there were small clues that something wasn’t right during the 20 years. Still, I forgave the person each time. Finally the friendship just fizzled out. It was at the end that the Lord started explaining that the things the person did were not what a Christian would do at all!

    1. The bible is there to tell us who the phonies are. It is replete with warnings about wolves in sheep’s clothing. The worse thing is to be betrayed by someone you least expect, a Christian. Kinda gives us a glimpse of Judas betraying Jesus.

  2. You Fundamentalists are the real heretics, not those whom you call false teachers because they don’t accept all of the bible. This book contains barbaric passages where God is falsely alleged to have commanded Israel to slaughter defenseless women, little children and babies. This is a command to commit murder and is sheer butchery (e.g. 1 Sam. ch.15).

    1. Mr. Arthur, in the old testament God indeed called Israel to slaughter of several colonies. Do you understand why? It’s because if allowed to go on, these colonies would lure God’s people away from Him.. to serve and worship mere idols who could do nothing for them at all. Idolism is a sin, and it’s something that God’s people had to eliminate, in order to keep their eyes focused on Him alone!

      1. Thanks for the comment Ed.

I’d like to add that God wanted to establish a people undefiled by idolatry where the line of the Messiah would come from. It was of utmost importance to be set apart because of God’s redemptive plan that was going to affect the whole world. There were gentiles in Jesus’ lineage, but they chose to worship the One True God.

  4. it’s very hard to see how from Christian theology and ethics that killing of little children and babies in warfare is justified. Most Evangelical theological ethicists hold to just war theory. These are never aggressive wars like many of those in the OT. So if one holds to just war theory then the genocides of the OT were ethically wrong and therefore sinful.

Only defensive wars are said to be just and non combatants must not be killed. Therefore God did not tell King Saul to kill all the Amalekites. Israel thought that God said this because Samuel claimed that God told him but this was Israel’s mistaken view of God’s will in warfare, at that time. The bible accurately describes Israel’s fallen and mistaken view of God’s will.

I wrote a post addressing your misunderstanding. The main issue that hinders you from accepting the truth is self-righteousness. Only GOD and you know all the unethical things you do in secret. Your antisemitic sentiment is evident and your stance on my other post about self-aggrandizing Leftist politicians who support the very things you deem unethical is very telling that like all the other disillusioned and deconverted souls out there, you just want to unleash your tirade on Christians.

I value your input, but if you are intent on pushing your erroneous narrative relentlessly on this blog, know that it will not be tolerated. These are indeed strange times we’re living in. My hope and prayer is that you reconsider your view before it’s too late. If you have a wife and kids, it would be for their benefit as well.

      Take Care John Arthur.

  5. “The main issue that keeps you from accepting the truth is self-righteousness.”

The main reason for not accepting the story in 1 Samuel ch.15 literally is compassion for little children, babies and defenseless women, not self righteousness, as you claim. Jesus did not promote the slaughter of little children and babies. He commanded his disciples to be compassionate even as their heavenly father is compassionate for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Jesus loved little children (as well as wicked adults) and doesn’t Jesus’ heart of compassion for the little ones count in how you interpret the bible?.

    1. “But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.”

      Jude 17-19

I assure you that you are not fooling me. I am allowing your comment for the last time so other Christians that you troll here on WP can see what you are really about.
