The Substance Of Our Faith

And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

Philippians 2:8

When Jesus took on human form, He came in this world removed of the title of a king.

“Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.”

John 6:15

Although He has “all authority in heaven and on earth(Matthew 28:18), those who came to faith in Jesus recognize Him as the King above all kings (1 Timothy 6:14-15, Revelation 19:16), but His reign is yet for the appointed time at His second coming.

“The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name. 10 The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up high from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses, and will remain in its place. 11 It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.

12 This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 On that day people will be stricken by the LORD with great panic. They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another. 14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—great quantities of gold and silver and clothing. 15 A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.

16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.

Zechariah 14:9-17

Verse 11 – Peace and security has always been an issue in the Middle East. Israel as of this moment may be armed with advanced weapon systems, but it is under constant threat of annihilation by its enemies, Iran and its allies.

Verse 12 gives us clarity that this speaks of a future event since it has never been in recorded history that ALL the nations who fought against Jerusalem in the past were struck with a plague that caused their bodies to rot/disintegrate while they are standing.

Verses 16-17 also give us more clarity that this has not yet happened in recorded history.

All that is happening in the world today points that HE IS COMING SOON.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

John 14:3

“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”

1 John 2:28

“When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

Colossians 3:4

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

John 11:25

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”

Revelation 22:12
