Truly Diverse ‘Bigots’

Perception does not equate reality. People who have decided to override reality with preferences and political correctness are quick to identify social blunders in a “Do what thou wilt” world. Ironically, the perceived ‘bigots’ (Christians) of today actually happen to be the most diverse group in the planet. We all know the Lord looks at the heart and those who appear to champion tolerance (politically speaking)- given time will end up eating their own words when what they do in secret is found out so don’t be fooled by their outward appearance.

Believers in Jesus Christ hail from different nations, tongues, male, female, homosexuals and yes, even transgenders. Let me focus on the homosexuals and transgenders (those who have come to Christ)-

“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.“

1 Corinthians 6:11

I have seen amazing testimonies from a former homosexual (Adam Hood) and a former transgender (Walter Heyer) who have been washed by the blood of the Lamb. They have heard God’s call to holiness and they have responded freely in their own volition. Those who truly belong to God simply cannot resist His love because His love is not masked with sensual pleasure that keeps one empty. It is love that takes you from bondage to freedom. Those who are delivered from that lifestyle proclaim the same thing- Jesus Christ.

Now, let us read the fuller passage that is deemed as hate speech in its unadulterated context.

“Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.“

1 Corinthians 6:9b-11

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Galatians 3:26-29

“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name above all names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,

Philippians 2:9-11

With everything said, when a person accepts Jesus as Savior, race, gender or ethnicity cease to be an issue. There is true diversity- united in Christ (in sound Biblical doctrine) without feigned allegiances.
