Unity

Jesus prayed for the unity of all believers (John 17:21). Desiring unity in the Body of Christ is God’s will. Knowing the difference between Unity in Christ and Ecumenism is a matter of spiritual life or death. Those who are united in Christ will never exchange the truth for a lie while Ecumenism led by the Catholic Church is a sinister plot in the guise of unity that denies Jesus Christ.

Jesus Forbids Sectarianism

Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.” But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side.

Mark 9:38-40

Jesus rebuked the apostles since He knew what their motivations were (John 2:24). It is important to note that at the time this happened, the apostles were not permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit yet. They were with Jesus and He always had to explain things for them to fully understand. I chose the passage above to highlight the practice of casting out demons that the Catholic Church is known for with their exorcists.

The Parable of the Weeds

Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

“‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

The Parable of the Weeds Explained

Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Matthew 13:36-43

As we are nearing the harvest, we can see the eventual separation of the wheat from the weeds. Weeds can do things that wheat do. Since the weeds are planted by the enemy, they will join forces with the world against Evangelicals who cling to the Word of God. Below is a snapshot of what the Catholic Church is truly about.

The chief promoter of Ecumenism believes there is no salvation apart from the Catholic Church, does not deny other ways to God as it denies Jesus being the only way (John 14:6).

People can reason the word “catholic” means universal and I accepted this. I always thought I was a Christian but it turns out that wasn’t the case. I even considered myself a Born again Catholic until I started to really read the Scriptures. If you are fairly new to Catholicism or even grew up in it but oblivious of what’s in the Catechism, you only go by God’s Word and you have truly given your life to Jesus, you don’t belong to her. The Catholic Church is not the one true church. It is the harlot in Revelation 17. There are Born again believers who have not yet decided to leave the church and Revelation 18:4 is an appeal to everyone who truly belong to Jesus to come out of that church.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23

God’s will is unity in Christ, not unity with the world (James 4:4).
