When God Is Silent

The chasm does not have to get any wider.

Have you been praying to God and not hearing back from Him at all? I don’t know all the answers but I do know one thing; if you came across this post, it did not happen by chance.

The world is in its current abject state of corruption because we allow the adversary’s native language to permeate the airwaves. We allow it to convince us of what we want to believe and once we step into his dark domain, we are no longer in the truth. It is when we allow ourselves to linger in such an environment that everything becomes sticky and staticky- sticky in the sense that without the truth, we put ourselves in a lot of sticky situations and staticky, we endanger ourselves both physically and spiritually since God will not hear our prayers because we are not living according to His righteousness. We can get messages we think might be from God when in reality, it is not from Him.

Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
    nor his ear too dull to hear.
But your iniquities have separated
    you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
    so that he will not hear.
For your hands are stained with blood,
    your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
    and your tongue mutters wicked things.
No one calls for justice;
    no one pleads a case with integrity.
They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies;
    they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.

Isaiah 59:1-4

Just several months ago, we all reacted in a visceral way in our living rooms with righteous indignation, how a woman could easily get away accusing someone of sexual abuse and making everyone believe it when it was all a ploy for character assassination. Truth, and nothing but the truth, is the only thing that can clear someone accused of a crime they did not commit.

If the tide were against you, can you grant the same mercy you demand on being heard as you plead your case? If not, then you have no business asking for something you yourself cannot give (Matthew 18:32-35). You might be heard, but certainly not by God (Isaiah 59:2).

The good news is that “the arm of the Lord is not too short to save.” Only when we humble ourselves and truly repent will He hear us.

Buy the truth, and do not sell it,
Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.”

Proverbs 23:23

  1. The Lord gave me these exact words to share with someone yesterday, “When God Is Silent” This morning I woke up with them still on my mind, thought about them a bit and started looking for a few passages, but the Lord stopped me and I left it alone….To my surprise, while browsing email notifications, I see this! God is truly amazing and He’s truly up to something!! Blessings!!

      Psalm 121:2-4 – “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
      He will not allow your foot to be moved;
      He who keeps you will not slumber.
      Behold, He who keeps Israel
      Shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

      Yup, He is always up to something. We just have to make sure we are in a position to hear Him clearly.

      I appreciate the comment and thanks for taking the time to read, Brother Anthony.
