Winter Beauty

It’s a cold and dreary day out here in the Pacific NW. The picture is dark which reflects that. Out of all the flowers I planted, the rest of the beauties have already succumbed to the elements. This Everlasting flower is the last one standing. The second bud is nearing its fullness.

This was how it looked like in November. It took some time for it to bloom, and yet, it is never late. It blooms at a much needed time when everything else around it has already withered. My son calls this one, “The Survivor.” It is marketed as an Annual but in places with moderate winter weather, it lingers as a Perennial. It does get to freezing temperatures out here. However, the cold air comes and goes enough for some plants to endure.

Are you an Annual or a Perennial?

“To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.”

Romans 2:7

  1. That flower also shows how a genuine believer will overcome the winters of life. It doesn’t matter how difficult, God keeps us in His hand
