I never would have thought that I would be one to say this but my family has actually had a UFO sighting. It happened a few years ago. I’m not sure which year it was but probably between 2007-2008 and another most recent possible sighting Autumn of 2010 which I caught on camera. I really only intended to take a picture of the moon but as I looked at the image, I saw a weird flat object that doesn’t resemble a plane because it doesn’t have a wing or a tail.
The term UFO is so broad that it could range from an aircraft or just anything we know that appears to be warped because of distance that it becomes to us, unidentified. Yet most people automatically think about aliens from another planet. Does it really have to be aliens and are they truly aliens?
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders,10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
I know you’ve heard this a million times that we are living in the last days. If you pay close attention to everything that is going on around the world, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put one and one together. If you read the bible, it specifically mentions about the increase of false prophets and false Christs as a precursor to the imminent return of Jesus Christ found in Matthew 24:24
“For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible.”
These ministers of Satan go about preaching what seems to be sound even to real believers but only true bible reading and believing Christians can detect the error of their doctrine. If you are a Christian and you have hardly ever read the bible, chances are you will easily embrace the lie. The key phrase on the passage is “deceive even the elect–if that were possible.” A person who truly has the Holy Spirit might embrace the lie for a time but ultimately, the Holy Spirit will prevent the believer from being completely deceived. This should encourage us to resolve to read the bible on a regular basis that we may be able to detect and sift and steer clear from any falsehood and erroneous doctrine.
Along that is the increase of apostasy or the falling away of people who claim to be Christians but have not truly been sanctified by the blood of Christ. This would include the people whom Jesus is talking about in the parable of the seeds in Matthew 13:1-9 except for the seeds that fell on good soil. We must make sure to receive Jesus Christ as our savior. It is only when we truly have the Holy Spirit can we withstand falling away from the faith.
Back to the deception, I can only speculate that the powerful delusion would have something to do with aliens and UFOs. Satan has strategically planned in the beginning how he was going to delude people into believing a lie which is backed up with stories and history from so called ancient civilizations like the Sumerians, predating Jesus Christ, with pseudo scientists purporting that those people had contact with aliens.
It is hard to convince someone who claims to have seen aliens that what they have seen are just guises of Satan’s demons. Those who most specially claim that there is no God has already succumbed to the lie and all we can do is pray that the scales would come off from their eyes. The devil is known as the great deceiver and can use all kinds of deception to ultimately lead souls into oblivion, and be separated from the truth.
Scriptures tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:4
4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
The truth is, there are no aliens. The aliens people claim to see are really demons manifesting themselves as aliens with the intent to deceive people to believe in something that is clearly not biblical. The bible is God’s inerrant word. It is the revelation of what was, what is, and what is to come. To prepare ourselves so that deception would not come upon us, we must truly resolve to
1) Receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
2) Live by God’s revelation through the Scriptures.
