A Terrestrial Spectacle

The Pacific Northwest happened to witness a solar eclipse almost seven years ago where my children and I saw the once in a lifetime event in the backyard, whereas today’s eclipse happened far from here. This looks similar to how solar eclipses end up after totality. It is interesting to witness these celestial spectacles. However, I don’t have the luxury to purposely take a flight out of town just to see it.

The only spectacle I could share is a terrestrial one of a woodpecker from less than 24 hours ago from the same backyard where the eclipse pic from above was taken. I hope some unbiblical end-time theories tied to today’s Solar eclipse did not cause anyone too much anxiety. A lot of anxious thoughts can be dealt with by giving your life to Jesus Christ. Much of it really has to do with one not knowing for certain where they will spend eternity.  Our souls coming from the very breath of God has this innate knowledge of eternity. We can attribute such anxiety as an alert. While there is time, don’t ignore it. My hope is that you would choose to get to know the One who can ease your soul today.

Who has believed our message
    and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
    and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
    nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
    a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
    he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 53:1-6 NIV

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6 NIV

And everyone who calls
    on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Acts 2:21 NIV
