Zionism/Patriotism: As Biblical As It Gets

Part One: Zionism

This post is a response to a deceptive antisemitic teaching that is circulating here in WordPress. I made a comment to a commenter on this blogger’s post and the blog owner decided to delete the entire exchange. He has every right to moderate the comments because it is his blog.  However, I will make my comments and his response that was saved on my email notification as snapshots public here.

Is the reestablishment of the Jewish nation really antichrist?

To those who cling to AntiZionism, below is what the Word of God says of Zion:

14 Sing, Daughter Zion;
    shout aloud, Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
    Daughter Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your punishment,
    he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
    never again will you fear any harm.
16 On that day
    they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
    do not let your hands hang limp.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

18 “I will remove from you
    all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals,
    which is a burden and reproach for you.
19 At that time I will deal
    with all who oppressed you.
I will rescue the lame;
    I will gather the exiles.
I will give them praise and honor
    in every land where they have suffered shame.
20 At that time I will gather you;
    at that time I will bring you home.
I will give you honor and praise
    among all the peoples of the earth
when I restore your fortunes
    before your very eyes,”
says the Lord.

Zephaniah 3:14-20

If I address a very serious belief which is dangerous and heretical, I save a copy of my comments because some of them either go to spam or the bloggers just trash it. I mainly wanted to address the commenter.

Below is the continuation of my truncated address to Jackie which contained mainly verses which I also asked her thoughts on Israel.

Lee – “I believe that the Israel of God are those persons who are in Christ.”

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Romans 11:25-27 KJV

Lee – “I believe that all Israel shall be saved, to mean that all of God’s elect shall be saved, the true Israel of God.”

17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

Ezekiel 11:17 KJV

My response to Jackie’s question about the ‘Present State of Israel’

Israel ALWAYS referred to God’s chosen people. The jews that inhabit[s] the State of Israel now are the very descendants of those who were scattered among the nations. Read Ezekiel 36:19-20,24. Spiritualizing a literal people is the very definition of Replacement theology which is making God’s Word say something other than what it states…

I asked Jackie why she needed two weeks to tell me why she thought the verses I quoted were out of context. It is only fair to know why someone gives you an opinion and expect to hear their reasoning for holding to their position. It’s the same with Fake news. Will you believe them when they tell you something without an explanation/evidence?

I respect Jackie’s decision to ‘leave it at that’. However, I would have really wanted to know what it was I misquoted so I could look into it.

The blog owner decides to get into the conversation

My reply:

“you still haven’t responded to the verses that I presented to you via a link to one of my posts.”

Lee, I am well aware of your ‘no debating’ position so I addressed Jackie specifically because I read in your blog comment to her you have not changed your position on Israel since we last spoke, but thank you for adding it in this comment.

To summarize all your verses, we become heirs of the promise. No one disputes that. Our being grafted in does not in any way cancel the Jews. We all become believers of the Messiah, all one in Christ with no distinction, neither Jew nor gentile.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” John 4:23.

Salvation is of the Jews in Jesus’ own words (John 4:22). Does that cancel the literal Jews? Of course not. Jesus acknowledges them. We refer to the Jews as a people specific to the descendants of Jacob (Israel, hence Israelites).

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.”Galatians 6:16

Who do you think is the “them” referring to in this verse? The verse includes ‘them’ and all those who believe in Christ.

“18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.” Romans 11:18

I ended at this and the blog owner leaves me with a final thought before deleting all the comments.

I wish the blogger decided to keep the whole thing over at his blog. The exchange which in my opinion was civil, would have let the readers come to their own conclusions.

Part 2: Patriotism

Merriam Webster’s definition of patriotism verbatim is love for or devotion to one’s country.

Jesus the Messiah is a Jew. Let’s look at Zephaniah 3 to see if it does not hold to ‘patriotic’ sentiments.

14 Sing, Daughter Zion;
    shout aloud, Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
    Daughter Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your punishment,
    he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
    never again will you fear any harm.
16 On that day
    they will say to Jerusalem,
Do not fear, Zion;
    do not let your hands hang limp.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.

If this kind of patriotism is sin, then it does not belong in the Word of God.

Is singing God bless America idolatry?

The very same blogger who pushes his antisemitic antizionism makes a post alluding that those who want to preserve our country’s dwindling religious freedom worship Trump. I am not offended by this. {NONE of the Trump voters that I know of make him to be their god.} The part I do take offense was not in the post itself, but the underlined red part in the comment. If speaking up against antisemitic Replacement Theology is “rejecting the truth of God’s Word,” may the Lord help us discern the truth.

Watch out for deceivers.

“Better to correct someone openly than to let him think you don’t care for him at all.”

Proverbs 27:5 GNT

  1. You know, out of all the people in WordPress, who I thought was firm in the truth, was Marques.

    The statement below, offends me greatly.

    [Marques said] “Lee, I encourage you to continue to post whatever God inspires you to share here on WP and FB. Sadly, there are going to be people who will reject some of what you write, but honestly they aren’t rejecting you..they are rejecting the truth of God’s Word.”

    Lee Poskey is a false Christian, without a shadow of a doubt, when he says “I believe that all Israel shall be saved, to mean that all of God’s elect shall be saved, the true Israel of God.”

    That is a false interpretation and a butcher of the text. Jesus said to the Jews in Matthew 23:39, which says, “For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

    Who was Jesus addressing this to? Let’s go to the passage which is two verses up. Matthew 23:37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.”

    He said that he won’t come back [His second coming] until His people [the Jews] come to open up their hearts to Jesus and recognize that He is indeed their Messiah.

    Replacement theology is unbiblical and demonic as it twists the Scriptures. If God is done with the Jews, how about us? What hope do we have? If Jesus didn’t keep His promise to the Jewish people, what makes you think, He will with us? Do you see this dilemma how Lee, introduces another Jesus that doesn’t keep His Word and takes away the teaching of eternal security [John 10:28-30]?

    How in the world can Marques support a person that adheres to replacement theology, which Lee is also mixed in with the cult of KJV onlyism and he also rejects a continuation of sanctification in regards to living a life in holiness. Lee Poskey spewed out that all the rest of the New Bible Versions are demonic language. Is that the mind of Christ? I think not. The King James Version is also a translation. Before the KJV, the people had the latin Vulgate for 1000 years until the KJV came. Without a translation that we can understand, we cannot do God’s will or even teach it to others.

    What makes it worse is that Marques condemns all those [believers] who oppose Lee’s heretical teachings as going against God’s Word. How many genuine believers in Jesus Christ did Marques just condemned? Countless. I’m very disappointed.

    I exposed Lee Poskey on my blog and Marques supported it. Now, I find out that Marques supports Lee.

    Which one is it my brother? Are you playing both sides?

    You said in your lastest post “Daniel’s choice to obey God instead of men so pleased the Lord that He granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of his captors.”

    I’m calling you out, Marques. I looked at your ministry as one that didn’t caved to pressure or men. Are you willing to stand up for the truth and call out Lee for his false teachings, and warn others if he does not humble himself? I don’t know how else to say it, my brother, Lee is false.

    What are you doing?

    I love you as my brother, but Lee needs to repent and so do you, my brother, for pronouncing on Lee something that he is not.

    1. Caeli/SpaniardVIII,

      Please be assured that I do, and always will stand on sound Biblical doctrine.

      I can’t tell either of you how to feel about Lee, because when I initially started reading his posts, I myself thought he might be a false teacher. In fact, it took many, many discussions with Lee, before I learned where his hart truly is…And even now, there are some things I disagree with him on and other things I ,feel he should word differently

      I do believe that he would greatly benefit from a solid physical church home, and I ask the two of you to join me in praying that he finds one.

      Over the past few years, I have had several discussions with Lee, regarding the way he has worded some of his posts. More specifically, on the subject of Repentance. He believes that once we receive salvation, that there is no need to ask God’s forgiveness each time we realize that we’ve sinned again. I addressed my concern that his teaching may lead babes in Christ to believe that they can be lukewarm. You won’t see any of my comments about that though, because over time, he does delete all of his comments. After several discussions and much prayer for him, He did write some post that spelled out that salvation and a Christian’s love for Christ, should not give them a license to willfully sin.

      As for sound biblical doctrine, every believer should stand on the following foundation:
      There is one God who manifests Himself as the Father- Son- and Holy Spirit, The God of the Bible crated the universe and everything in it, sin causes mankind to be out of fellowship with God, Mankind CAN NOT merit Heaven by keeping the law or by doing good works, Faith in Jesus Christ is the ONLY WAY that a person can be saved, At some point in the future Jesus Christ will return to punish the unsaved and to reward those who have placed their faith in Him.

      Now, you can see that some disputing can arise when believers take it a few steps further and start conversing about things like: Did God create the earth in six literal days or was it over a longer period of time?, should Christians partake in alcohol?, Can women preach?, Should we observe the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday?, Which Bible version(s) are accurate?, Can a person lose their salvation?, Replacement Theology?, Is the Rapture pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, or Post-Trib?, etc… Caeli/SpaniardVIII,
      , people get real heated about some of this stuff and that’s where the different Christian denominations come from.

      just look at all of the different denominations there are: Southern Baptist, Free Will Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, AME Zion, Holiness, Episcopalian, Non-Denominational, just to name a few. While I don’t endorse them, because of their works based religion, the Catholic Church is still very powerful worldwide, despite their recent scandals.

      As we continue to interact with other people here on WP, other Social Media platforms, and even in our communities: We will need the Holy Spirit’s discernment and wisdom in being able to differentiate between:

      Those who truly are false teachers
      And
      Those who truly are our brothers and sisters in the faith, but whose denominational biblical interpretations just differ from ours.

    2. SpaniardVIII,

      Since you brought that subject up, and I forgot to mention it in my first comment. Let me also add that replacement theology is one of the things Lee and I differ in beliefs on.

      1. Why say that those who go against him (his teachings) are going against God’s Word?

    3. SpaniardVIII, as I sted previously I do not persnally agree with all of teh things Lee says.

      When I made the comment Below:

      “Lee, I encourage you to continue to post whatever God inspires you to share here on WP and FB. Sadly, there are going to be people who will reject some of what you write, but honestly they aren’t rejecting you..they are rejecting the truth of God’s Word.”

      I was referring specifically to a prior Post that Lee has written about him being on the verge of quitting posting Gospel messages of any kind on FB, because he was being attacked by Atheists on that Social Media platform. I’d have given you, Caeli, and any other brother or sister in the faith the same encouraging words, if you found yourself in that same situation.

      1. Marques, what you need to understand, the Bible clearly says not to support false teachers in any shape or form. You cannot choose what’s sound and ignore the false part of their teachings because that is the part that is going to push people away from Christ. Can a person, before he drinks, take out the poison that has spread in the cup of water? You know the answer to that.

        In 2 John 1, it gives us a warning not support in any circumstances a false teacher. If Lee is preaching that it doesn’t matter if you continue to sin because God has forgiven you already, you don’t need to repent. Why support someone who is a false teacher? I went to his blog, and he says that living in sanctification is a false doctrine? So holiness is no longer relevant for a believer’s life? My cousin had the same view, which was taught by a pastor named Joseph Prince. I corrected him, it took time, but he now repents every time he sins.

        Marques, you need to choose who you are going to support. True believers who are really preaching the truth or back peddle and support false teachers, just because they get some things right, doesn’t make them genuine. Deception, remember, comes in a disguise of truth, but in reality, it is just a front to get genuine believers to endorse their heretical and damning doctrine.

        You are my brother, and I just wanted to bring to your attention that it is vital to have a strong stance on the truth. So what, if people get upset with you, at least you warned them and told them the truth of God’s Word.

        As Christians, we are supposed to look out for one another and call out something when we feel that the other brother is in error. If we don’t do it with each other, who will help us when we can’t see our errors?

      2. This came to my mind Marques:

        Proverbs 6

        16 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

        17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

        18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

        19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

    4. SpaniardVIII, Thank You! That’s the response I’d been waiting and praying for. God bless you, my brother! It was absolutely necessary that you respond with the words that you used.

      “the Bible clearly says not to support false teachers in any shape or form. You cannot choose what’s sound and ignore the false part of their teachings because that is the part that is going to push people away from Christ. Can a person, before he drinks, take out the poison that has spread in the cup of water? You know the answer to that”.

      “In 2 John 1, it gives us a warning not support in any circumstances a false teacher.”

      “you need to choose who you are going to support. True believers who are really preaching the truth or back peddle and support false teachers, just because they get some things right, doesn’t make them genuine. Deception, remember, comes in a disguise of truth, but in reality, it is just a front to get genuine believers to endorse their heretical and damning doctrine”.

      You are my brother, and I just wanted to bring to your attention that it is vital to have a strong stance on the truth. So what, if people get upset with you, at least you warned them and told them the truth of God’s Word.

      “As Christians, we are supposed to look out for one another and call out something when we feel that the other brother is in error. If we don’t do it with each other, who will help us when we can’t see our errors?”

      Alex, I do agree wholeheartedly, with your above comments…And I’ll kick your butt through cyberspace, if you ever forget and violate what you just said above. LoL! Naw, I’ll approach you in Christian grace and concern (Dalatians 6).

      Alex, I apologize for messing with you a little today, but we have some readers, who have called your character into question, because of how they interpretted your spirit in responding to some politics related comments on various sites. They never click Like on any of our posts(I don’t see them in the Like list on Caeli’s post here either), and they’ve never commented on your site but they are reading every thing you and I post very carefully; And for some strange reason they’ve chosen to expressed their concerns to me privately. Today, these individuals have come to Caeli’s site, and observed our conversation.

      In fact, I was notified by one of these outside readers, early this morning before I even had breakfast(LoL!), that my name had come up in a conversation by “that SpaniardVIII guy.”

      Over the past week or so, I have spoken up and defended you against these outside individuals, because you’ve always been a solid sincere believer during our interactions over the years, but prayerfully this discussion of Lee Poskey’s character, served as a good opportunity to settle any concerns these outside readers have about your character, Alex.

      Ok, readers, you’ve seen SpaniardVIII’s Godly responses to me He is a sincere follower of Jesus Christ; And a no nonsense kinda guy. If any of you have any further concerns, please reach out to SpaniardVIII, on his site.

      I have nothing else to say, but may Jesus Christ be glorified in all that we do.

      1. Thank you, Marques, for your response. I appreciate your defense. Believe me, I will, with God’s help, keep what I said.

        You know, Marques that I don’t hide what I believe about the Scriptures or to let people know what is in my heart, especially, when I feel that they are deviating in some way from biblical doctrine. Of course, I try to do it with humility, but I know that my passion for truth might come out a little rough at times. There are so many false Christians in WordPress that if you warn someone, instead of thanking you for looking out, they get offended. Lol, I don’t get it.

        I wonder who are the people that go to you about me, instead of coming to me directly? I would appreciate, whoever it is that if you have any concerns about my political or biblical standing to come straight to me.

        My world view is through the lens of Scripture. That includes politics as well. I have nothing to hide on where I stand. If I see a false teacher, I will call that person out. If I see no repentance, I will warn the rest of the believers to watch out for that person like I have done with Lee Poskey. There is no point in going to Lee as he has a rule of no debating over at his blog. And if you do go there and leave a comment, the man will just delete it. He has that right. And so do I in not wasting my comment on someone who will toss it to the trash.

        You know where my blog is at, come over and share your concerns.

  2. “Replacement theology is unbiblical and demonic as it twists the Scriptures. If God is done with the Jews, how about us? What hope do we have? If Jesus didn’t keep His promise to the Jewish people, what makes you think, He will with us?”

    Exactly. His covenant with the Jewish people stands.

    “28 Regarding the gospel, they are enemies on your account; but regarding election, they are loved on account of the patriarchs. 29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.

  3. I say that once you start with a major misinterpretation, it will eventually cause a domino effect with the rest of the Scriptures. Very dangerous.
