But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

2 Timothy 3:1-9 NIV

Hearsay theology usually go hand in hand with heresy. I try not to write about things I am not strongly convinced of and is not supported by Scripture. As I recall my dealings in the past with professing Christians here in WP, I have exposed a few of those whom I found to be preaching contrary to what is written. I have not raised a character assault on the person, but rather address the issue pertaining to the erroneous doctrine.

There are those who think that engaging in a debate in defense of sound doctrine is too taboo. They say doing so is divisive. However, it cannot be denied that the church is in its current condition because of the fact that it is overrun by people who claim to be Christians, devoid of the Holy Spirit who tend to be more about activism and pop culture than the truth of God’s Word.

This post is a warning about those who are promoting “The Chosen”. This series which is created by a professing Christian who consults with unregenerate advisors (belonging to the biggest cult in history and those who clearly do not believe in the deity of Jesus) is rife with blasphemy. It is made in a way to subvert the faithful and undermine the character of those whom God greatly used to spread the gospel.

If you or someone you know happen to enjoy watching what is claimed and promoted by a pastor’s wife as “historic fiction,” beware! We can take a cue from this utterance that fiction is not the truth. The most sad thing about The Chosen is that given the time we are living in, this might be the only semblance of “Christianity” some will ever come to know and it preconditions viewers to embrace a hearsay theology about a Jesus who is not the same Jesus as the one revealed in Scripture.
