The Snack With A Purpose

Stay ‘salty’ no matter what happens

Salt happens to be one of my favorite things. My son, yes I said it, my son (fortunately, I’m not a congressperson), looks at me weird when I put Soy Sauce on my egg omelette. I even put salt on my McDoubles. My husband used to give me a weird look on this one until he got used to it. I’m not kidding. With what I’ve just mentioned, I’m sure I have a high concentration of salt coursing through my veins when I do eat them, which is every once in a while. That aside, being the salt that Jesus mentioned on the Sermon on the Mount requires a will that is submitted to the Holy Spirit’s leading. We all constantly have room for improvement on this one.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

Matthew 5:13

Just the night before, I had the urge for Cheese puffs. It was already past 8 PM, but the Dollar Tree was only minutes by the house. I had no idea that it turned out to be some divine appointment to be at the store. The cashier was a man who looked to be in his late teens or early twenties. I can’t help but hear the conversation he was having with the customer in front of me. He said he had so much fun during Halloween because he dressed up as a drag. Then came my turn. I’m not the conversation starter type but apparently, he was. He rang up the Brim’s Cheese Puffs and Brim’s Cheese Balls. Surprisingly, he made a remark about how he calls them “Jesus snacks” with a slight chuckle referring to the verses on the back of the packaging. It was a very quick transaction, but my reply to him was that it was a snack with a purpose.

The message on the Cheese Puffs packaging

The gospel IS everywhere. As you can see, even that man has no excuse. He was already aware of the verses on the back of the packaging. Some people think these things are trivial, but it isn’t. It is God’s message being preached to anyone who buys them. They have different verses on each product. I frequently buy the Brim’s Chicharrón (Pork Rinds) that I snack on whenever I’m on Keto. They are not that salty so I dip them in Apple Cider vinegar & Soy Sauce mixture to taste better.

On the back of the Cheese Balls packaging

And this happens to be printed on the back of a cheese snack.

What a clever way for Brim’s to be Salt.
