Just Another Day

It rained today.

What this bird does is relatable. It flies to a familiar place. I will never know where this fluffy feathered little friend comes from or how much it visits this garden, but what I do know is it likes to be around pretty flowers.

Just like yesterday, we visited the same place today. Took a picture of the same plant and although it looks almost the same, some petals from yesterday have already fallen and what were buds just less than twenty-four hours ago were blooming today. The lighting and weather was different, however. Though the weather was fair, there was a winter chill in the air.

Just around the block were the Lenten Roses. It’s here as a reminder that although today may feel like winter, it’s not meant to feel like winter forever.

This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”

25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.”

Lamentations 3:21-26 NKJV

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6 NKJV
