Prophecy is one of those things we humans find to be truly intriguing. It is interesting that a publication depicts the four horsemen on the cover of The World in 2019. Are the “powers that be” implying the orchestration and full manifestation of events which correspond to the four horsemen to commence just months from now? That is something to think about, isn’t it?
Speaking of the four horsemen, let’s go straight to the source.
The Seals
I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

It is amazing to see that the Word of God is validated day by day as events happen according to what is written. From cover to cover, we can trust that what is written will surely come to pass as we are witnessing it in our time. Jesus forewarned us in Luke 21 of the coming persecution His followers will face. We are getting a foretaste of this with the gradual erosion of our first ammendment rights because of political correctness with every intent to muzzle conservative speech.
Before anyone convinces you to doubt the bible, take the time to really think about who would author such a thought (Genesis 3). The Holy Spirit testifies to the truth and will never bring anyone to doubt God’s Word. If evidence for veracity is demanded, the word is PROPHECY – we are witnessing substantial prophecies undeniably coming to pass by the minute.
These are truly perilous times but even when powerful people are eager to enforce their agenda, we must not forget that God holds the ultimate timeline.

Just to offer an alternate understanding: the four horsemen are in the world now and have been here for centuries. Jesus spoke of “wars and rumors of war, earthquakes, and famines,” not as a countdown to the Day of the Lord, but as a reminder to each generation that the Day of the Lord is coming. Whenever we encounter violence and need, we are seeing the horsemen ride. All we know about the Day of the Lord, though, is that it is seven days closer than it was last Friday. J.

Though Jerusalem has long been the capital of Israel in our globe, its declaration coincided on Israel’s 70th anniversary of its re-establishment where its significance connects to the 70 years of their captivity that they were released from Babylon to Jerusalem – what’s interesting is Trump’s reiteration of it being the “Eternal” capital, at the same time, moving the embassy to that very same location- again, something that has not been done decades before and add to that the flourishing LGBT movement and the ever increasing agenda of doing away with national sovereignty in favor of globalism, not to sound conspiratorial here, it definitely looks like a gradual alignment to the coming one world government. Like you mentioned, we are definitely a week closer to Christ’s return.

**I would like to add to my mentioning of the pivotal things happening in Israel specific in OUR time (and not centuries prior), that the four horsemen is very specific to the tribulation period.
Hey Salvageable, I don’t know where or how you got that interpretation but that is contrary to what the text says. The four horsemen are the beginning of the Seals of God’s wrath. God’s wrath is broken down in 3 stages as follows 1. Seals, 2. Trumpets, 3. Bowls. Each intensifies in judgment. The Prophecies of the first advent of Christ was literal, likewise, the second coming of Christ, pertaining to future events is literal.

With all due respect, your statement is just wrong. Jesus attributed the wars, famine, earthquakes, false messiahs, and the idol or image of the antichrist which will be on the corner of the third temple as signs of His return or second coming with the illustration of birth pains from a pregnant woman to show the more they occur signifies the nearness of Christ’s return according to Matthew 24, and contrary to what you said, it is like a countdown in a sense that we can see His return is getting close. Biblical interpretation is taken literally unless the context shows you otherwise but even if the text is using symbolism, it still has a literal meaning behind it so it is not to be spiritualized. For an example: Psalms 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.”
Psalms 91:4 is using a symbol to point to a reality. It is not spiritualized, God’s protection is real.
I did say that it was a different perspective. In general, I believe that Christ fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament in his first advent. Some will be more completely fulfilled on the Day of the Lord, his second advent, but everything necessary and promised was completed through his sinless life, his sacrificial death, and his triumphant resurrection.
Matthew 24:6 is very plain: “Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.” I understand the book of Revelation to consist largely of describing life during the time of the Church. The Day of the Lord is approached seven times from different perspectives, but the first six times the book rewinds into current events. Trying to read Revelation as a series of future events completely changes it from what the Lord intends us to understand.
I agree that everything in the Bible is trustworthy and true and that its message should not be “spiritualized.” I disagree that everything in the Bible is literally true. God does not have wings and feathers. His protection is real. SpaniardVIII and i may be using the word “literally” in different ways. J.

The Lord intends for everyone to come to the knowledge of the truth, albeit in human perspective is the opposite of good tidings as a warning to those who choose to reject Him. If we stick to the allegorical interpretation of the “The Mark” in Revelation 13:17, that would mean people would willingly take what would guarantee their eternal damnation.
We are obviously not there yet, but in the event the mandatory implementation of the mark happens in our time, and the technology the world has today could no doubt handle it on a global scale, we are warned at all cost not to take it.

Well, after the letters to the 7 churches it jumps to future events. What is interesting is that the church is not even mentioned once. It focuses on Israel solely.

I think you misunderstood me when I used the word “literal.” The interpretation of Holy Scripture is taken first and foremost literally unless the context tells you otherwise. Saying that when Scripture uses symbolism it is to point to a reality. Yes, we know that God doesn’t have feathers but He was using that illustration to show us that just as a hen literally protects its young so does the Lord literally protects His children.

I disagree with you wholeheartedly. Jesus rebuked His contemporaries for not understanding future events pertaining to the coming Messiah. I will quote it below:
Matthew 16:1-3
The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and tested him, asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He replied, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be good weather because the sky is red.’ 3 And in the morning, ‘Today will be stormy because the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to read the appearance of the sky, but you can’t read the signs of the times.
According to what you have told me, it seems that you have two different interpretation philosophies when it comes to Scripture, Old and New Testament which contradicts each other. That type of interpretation in my personal opinion is very dangerous.
First, I would like to point out that the three of us agree on those things that matter most: Jesus Christ is Lord, He is the only Savior, the Bible is his message to the world and is entirely true, our sins are forgiven, etc.
Second, I do not read the Old Testament and New Testament differently. Both of them point to Christ. The only difference is the Old Testament made promises of what he would do and the New Testament describes how he kept those promises. Whenever I read any part of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, I look for Jesus.
About twenty years ago a prominent Christian author estimated how much of the Bible is history, how much is prophecy, and how much is rules about how we should live. He also said that a high amount–I think it was seventy percent–of the prophecy is still unfulfilled. I disagree on both counts. The entire Bible points to Jesus Christ and his work to redeem the world. All the promises have been kept in Christ. The Day of the Lord will come suddenly, like a thief, not with a countdown. We are to be ready for that Day constantly,

I agree with the bottom half of this quote J. As far as the countdown is concerned, I’ve heard it from someone saying to me before that some Christians view it as some kind of a checklist as if we’re looking forward of the fact that persecution and wrath is coming. I am looking forward to Revelation 21:4 – “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
God gave the vision to John to convey the message to the whole church and the fact that Jesus uses the expression “He who has ears, let him hear” and another one like it in Revelation 13:18 that says, “This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666,” is to me indicative that it does require a special kind of attentiveness to the signs, if you will.

A very interesting topic. I got quite deep into the end times literature when I was younger. Over time, I came to see how many of the promises are fulfilled in Christ’s first advent and how many of the signs of the Day of the Lord recur century to century.
