Contrast & Cookies

It was a little frosty out when I went foraging for Black Walnuts this morning and this creature was on the walnut fruit.

My daughter exclaimed some days ago that I’ve officially become a nut cracker. It’s my first time foraging for Black Walnuts. The whole time we’ve lived here, I’ve never seen such an abundance until this year. You can’t get any closer to looking at the birds than foraging, especially when the stuff is almost literally by the front door!

I finally cracked enough Walnuts to put it into some cookies. I incorporated them into a favorite recipe from Ghirardelli and made the necessary substitutions.

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

Matthew 6:26 NKJV
