Giving Is A Good Thing

I have skipped being festive (no tree decorating or anything) for 2 consecutive years now. However, I still go by gift-giving. I am reminded of what I told a friend just a couple of days ago, that I live in benefit of the greatest gift, redemption through Christ. We all desire to live in submission to the Holy Spirit but oftentimes, we fall short and more so because we still live in this world with plenty of things that entice us. I don’t personally tell people not to celebrate Christmas. Living in constant generosity is a struggle for some but I think it is counterproductive to rob people out of their will to practice generosity, if even once a year.

We have because God is good and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with giving.

We can’t expect people to celebrate Jesus in an intimate level especially if they have not had a personal encounter with Him. If Christians struggle to stay the course, how much more people who do not have the Holy Spirit? What is comforting to me though is knowing the historical fact that Jesus came into this world is being celebrated. The sad truth is that even this is slowly being removed from public knowledge and is under attack.

You don’t have to set up a tree or a nativity scene. I was liberated from kissing idols (through my Catholic upbringing) and to my knowledge, I have not experienced kissing the likeness of the baby Jesus figurine from the nativity scene, and neither have I deemed the tree anything more but a colorful decoration. Nothing wrong with depictions as long as you don’t bow down, pray to it and think kissing it will yield miracles. I won’t discourage anyone should they feel festive.

Imagine… Candy canes were being banned from a school in Nebraska simply because they are shaped as a letter “J”. The decision was reversed since the Social Justice principal who raised the objection in her quest for inclusivity, apparently excluded more people than she thought would be offended. According to her complaint, “Historically, the shape is a ‘J’ for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection,” she reportedly wrote. “This would also include different colored candy canes.”

As a Christian, I had no idea the Candy cane shape meant that. Her reasoning is one that is an obvious fabrication to justify her religious bigotry towards Christians.

Celebrate this Western tradition while you still can. If they move to ban even Western secular symbols, imagine the real war with everything that actually has to do with Jesus Christ.

Let me ask you a question. Do you think gift-giving is sinful?

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

  1. In the bible it says not to celebrate traditions of the heathen because it’s an abomination unto the LORD. Christmas in fact is a satanic ritual most Christians have been led to believe that it’s celebrating Jesus but in fact is celebrating Tammuz, Lucifer and Satan. Don’t be deceived! Youtube search “Christmas Satanic” and “Ex-Satanist Christmas” and checkout those videos.

    Jeremiah 10:1-5
    Mark 7:13

    1. Okay, basic 101 Biblical interpretation.
      1. Do not read and take verses out of context.
      Jeremiah was not talking about something like a Christmas tree that was decorated.

      Jeremiah 10:3 says, “for the customs of the peoples are worthless.
      Someone cuts down a tree from the forest;
      it is worked by the hands of a craftsman with a chisel.”

      The craftsman is shaping part of the wood from the tree into an image. Look at verse 14 which says, “Everyone is stupid and ignorant.
      Every goldsmith is put to shame
      by his carved image,
      for his cast images are a lie;
      there is no breath in them.”

      And lastly, no Christian who celebrate Christmas worships a tree by bowing down to it and calling it God. We celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth, not that He was born in December but that He was born period. Scripture declares that whatever we do, do it for His glory.

      Worshipping a tree is one thing, but we worship the Living God, Jesus Christ.

      1. As always, your exposition is rife with clarity and does not disappoint. Thank you, brother.

    2. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

      Keep doing research!

      1. If you believe Gail Riplinger without question, you’re the one who needs to do some research.

  2. Believe what you want, just know that the Holy Spirit is telling you
    this thru me, so if you refuse you’re not refusing me you’re refusing
    the Holy Spirit. Christmas in fact is a satanic ritual and in Jeremiah
    10:1-5 God says to not celebrate it, but most christians don’t even
    read their bibles so how would they know anything, they just do what
    they’re told, and that’s why even many Christians will end up in hell,
    because they don’t test the spirits and don’t do their own research
    etc. I don’t want you to go to hell and Jesus doesn’t want anyone to
    perish, God corrects those that he loves.

    1. This coming from someone who tells me to never bother electing worldly officials since everything is rigged you would rather be governed by people who will rob you of your liberty without question.

      I do appreciate you taking the time to read my post.

    2. Show me one verse in Holy Scripture that says, we cannot take a day to remember Jesus’s birth for our salvation through a holiday? Your gross Jeremiah interpretation ain’t going to work because that is not what it is saying. You are trying to make the Bible say something it is not. Satan does not want people to think about Jesus in Christmas just like the liberals, you sir are the one being used by the enemy.

  3. Do some research and you’ll see how the elites operate and control the minds of many people, voting in fact is a pagan tradition also, until you do some research you’ll keep believing lies as truth. YouTube search “Russianvids” or “A Call For An Uprising” and watch some of their videos, then do some of your own research after learning about what they talk about to see if in fact it’s true what they say or not. The bible says to test all spirits, do you actually do that or do you just blindly believe and follow, while thinking you are using your own mind, when in fact those thoughts have been placed into your mind by the likes of minions of satan himself.

    1. One thing I know for sure is that if I and other Christians were to follow your advice, your freedom of religion would have evaporated a long time ago and you would be living in something like North Korea or China.

      P.S. You never bothered to answer my question. Is gift-giving a sin?

    2. I don’t know if it’s a sin or not, I personally think it’s okay to give gifts, but I’m still researching that topic.

    3. Why don’t you approve the video links I posted? Those video links are a gift of wisdom and knowledge.

      1. I will not promote things I have not personally checked out. Please understand I have autonomy to do so on my own blog. If you want, you can do a post on your blog and promote those in your own time.

    4. Then take a moment to watch the video and approve it I’m sure you will agree, if you’re a true follower of Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit then why wouldn’t you unless you think you are but are really not and really are just another gatekeeper.

      1. Coercion is not from God. Free will is. Being selective about who I trust is definitely not a sin and based on our past dealings, I am wary of you. You can slander me as a false believer all you want. God knows my heart and I rest in that. Peace to you!
