What a way to celebrate the New Year by looking back. I am still going through things to sort out and I came across an old SD card with memories from the place I’ve left behind. I like where we’ve moved to but the memories still keep lingering and tugging at my heart. These images are about 5 years old. Let me start with the throwbacks.
As for a new milestone, New Year’s Eve marks the first day I have actually cooked a serious meal in the State of Oregon.
I am glad that there is an Asian Specialty Market nearby and I can finally make Mai Fun (Rice Noodles) as much as I would like!
Another thing, I’m not embarrassed to admit that when I took the DMV Knowledge test to convert my license from FL to OR, I failed the first time and let me tell you, it was a feeling I have never felt in my life… actually flunking a test! It was the first test I failed as far as I can remember. I went back the next day after actually studying OR’s driving handbook and I’m officially an Oregonian (in license anyway), though my heart is still a Floridian but maybe in a few months, that will all change.
We did not watch the ball drop and well, for the first day of the New Year, so far I have been busy doing laundry and sorting things out still. This move has definitely opened my eyes that I need to get rid of stuff, stuff I cannot take with me should God decide to snuff my light early and I suppose this realization would make for a good New Year’s resolution, to downsize, downsize, downsize until nothing overflows out of the closet. This will be quite a struggle for me indeed but with God’s help, everything is possible.
Have an awesome New Year ahead!
