Printemps: My Derek Lam Look For Less

Spring calls for light and airy dresses. So here’s my take for this season. This happens to be my color, cut, and cost preference comparable to one of Derek Lam’s Spring dress collection.

Fit and flare dress which in my opinion is a flattering silhouette  for any body type. This dress has a lightweight Rayon fabric construction although I must admit the fabric is so thin I worry about it getting run quite easily. Not only do I like it because of the cut but also because of the color and its collar.

asosback

The back is a little bit more conservative compared to Derek Lam’s The Sun Dress pictured on the bottom. The v back is too open for my taste, although a cute cardi could fix that.

I think the shoes she’s wearing look like hooves. Would have been cuter if they were espadrille wedges, not flat platforms or flatforms (what an oxymoron.)

wedge

I know matching clothes with shoes is traditional as opposed to contrasting shoes. I don’t care for it since I tend to stick to what works for me and instead of the flatform hooves, I’d rather pair the dress with this taupe wedge.
