Rocks From Outer Space

Almost a year ago, The Economist mentioned in a video concerning 2021, “While much of next year will be focused on protecting the world from dangers on Earth, some scientists will be focusing on how to defend the planet from threats in outer space.” NASA was going to launch “the world’s first trial in planetary defense.” [Transcribed from The World in 2021: five stories to watch out for | The Economist]

Exactly eight months ago, I posted about DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) entitled, “Hitting Two Birds With One Post.”

We did not hear much buzz about this in the news back in July, when the mission was slated to take place. It was eclipsed by the most pressing issue at the time—vaccine mandates. DART launched on November 24.

An article from SETI.org (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) entitled Asteroid Armageddon by a senior astronomer, talks about the mission and concerns from the UN.

This shows us that there is much apprehension from the scientific community about asteroids hitting Earth.

“People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.”

Luke 21:26

“DART is a ‘proof of concept’ mission, not because we need the technology now, but because there will surely come a day when we will.”

The astronomer’s utterance substantiates Bible Prophecy.

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

Isaiah 46:10

An asteroid/meteor will hit Earth on the worst time Earth will ever know (Matthew 24:21) occurring during the second half of the coming Seven-Year Tribulation,

^“Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. ¹¹ The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.”

Mankind can try their best to thwart what has been written, but humanity’s efforts will be brought to nothing. The result would be darkness on Earth,

“The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.”

Revelation 8:12

Now is the time to seek Jesus Christ.
