While this verse is coming from a passage regarding food and something we ingest, this principle can be easily misapplied about taking in recreational substances reasoning that an herb to be smoked grows naturally or Cannabis derived products are okay for Christians to use. Using Cannabis is an open door to the enemy of our souls which invites demonic oppression. If you happen to be a professing believer and using Cannabis on a consistent basis, cutting this figurative “right hand” and throwing it away is the best course of action (Matthew 5:30).
