Sidewalk Message

My family headed for an afternoon stroll at the park and grabbed a bite to eat downtown. We went to a New York style pizzeria. While we were waiting for our pizza, I noticed a doodled verse on the wall. It was Romans 1:16.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Eating there brought me memories of the trademark thin large pizza slices that you have to fold to eat and I always used to let the grease drip on the plate. We all enjoyed it. It was delicious. On the way back to the parking lot, I saw a sign left by someone laid on the sidewalk. Believe it or not, it was another Bible verse but the exact verse reference was not written. For some reason, my husband just walked past it without noticing I had to call him back so he could have a look at it too. We will never know who left it on the sidewalk. If it came from a homeless man, he sure has a lot of hope coming from above to endure the brutal winter chill. Below is the full verse from Matthew 5:14,

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

It spoke to my family. As believers, we are the light of the world.
