Zealous With God’s Purpose

Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. (1 Corinthians 13:6)

If you have followed me long enough, you’d know that I have a thing for chocolates. Valentine’s day was close to being a month ago. Even so, I’m surprised these pieces lasted until today.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Titus 2:11-14

redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works – We have to first be saved in order for our works to count for the kingdom. Each person is redeemed with a specific task to carry out. The Holy Spirit determines the gifts that a believer will operate under to benefit the body of believers. He will also make it clear to you what you are to do for the kingdom. Each person is equipped through their upbringing and life experiences. The apostle Paul was a Pharisee by upbringing (Philippians 3:5, Acts 22:3). He knew the Scriptures well and he was chosen by God to forward the gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

According to the passage above, God comforts us in our troubles so we could do to others what He has done for us. If you could rewind to a specific time in your life, what has God delivered you from? Your calling will have something to do with your life experience to help deliver those who are still in bondage. He created you the way you are because there is someone out there that your personality, the way God made you will be able to reach that person best. You don’t have to try to be someone else. He made you to be just the way you are. As you surrender yourself to the Holy Spirit’s leading, you will find fulfillment.

You are My witnesses,” says the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.

Isaiah 43:10
