Thoughts On Good Friday

“Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

1 Peter 2:16

“For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

Galatians 5:13

These flowers are white, but turn into a beautiful shade of Amber just before they fall to the ground

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Hebrews 6:4-6

Today, Christendom commemorates Good Friday. Each of us are in different levels in our walk with Christ, but since the moment of our encounter with the Lord, His Holy Spirit dwells in us. His will is that we live in keeping with our salvation.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

Romans 8:12-13

When we continue in long stretches of carnality, we crucify Him all over and put Him to open shame.

The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.”

Luke 12:47

The punishment will be severe especially for those who claim to really know God and yet live double lives.

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Luke 12:48b

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.

Romans 8:1-3

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.
