A Flower Named After The Light

This would be a light and cheery post fit for a bright and sunny day. I have not looked up if sunflowers thrive all year long in the tropics, but in these parts, it’s not even officially Spring yet. However, these sunflowers take some months to grow to maturity and if you want to see these cheerful flower smiles, they have to be started indoors.

The tips were clipped slightly and within a couple of days, they started to sprout. If there’s an argument that needs to be asserted that none of us can have a claim to be God, it would be that none of us can make these seeds grow to maturity overnight or any fruit-bearing tree for that matter.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

And let’s not forget about the things that happen during all the waiting. There are pests that can’t wait to feast on these as soon as they are planted outside. With God’s sovereignty, some make it all the way to Summer time.

Out of all the years I’ve been growing sunflowers, this was the very first time I’ve seen the pollen turn into a C shape. It would be fitting to call this one life on C for Christian street — with the faith and hope to endure the many battles waged on different fronts aimed at the one who is a true follower of Jesus Christ.

We live in a chaotic world filled with constant schism and division, but we are not left as orphans (John 14:17-18). All believers who worship in Spirit and in truth will come together by adhering to sound doctrine which can only be found in God’s Word.

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

John 17:17 NKJV
