Mothers have their good days and their bad days. It’s overcast today. I woke up not feeling good. Spiritual attacks come and I happened to get one just minutes after getting up.

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

Psalm 43:5

My son’s Mother’s day surprise was waiting at the kitchen table and it brought gladness to my heart as I read the touching note he left. After having coffee with my husband, I spent the early part of the day in the backyard where my daughter joined me. The gray thoughts started to dissipate.

Still patiently waiting for a hummingbird… I even played hummingbird sounds using my phone to experiment if it would summon one. My daughter and I once summoned a kitten that was hiding in my mother’s storeroom using the audio of a mother cat meowing via youtube. To this day, we share laughs to our amazement that it actually worked.

I decided to walk in the front yard to take flower pictures and the colors on this Azalea called me.

The sun decided to peek for a short while and then it went back to gray.

My husband decided to save me from cooking so we made it a pizza day. I indulged with this thin crust pepperoni pizza topped with oodles of Parmesan, garlic powder and red pepper flakes.

To the mothers, Happy Mother’s Day!

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.

Psalm 43:3-4

May the Lord bless you
and keep you;
May the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
May the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.

May the Holy Spirit strengthen all the mothers and anyone out there who happen to have a tough day today and always.
