The Golden Hour

We went for a late walk and got home late. The days are longer now. It’s funny how everything gets a tint of gold the hour before it gets completely dark.

“From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD’s name is to be praised.”

Psalm 113:3

I waited to get a shot of the female mallard, but she was busy fishing. These ducks although common, are amazing. They go on water, they walk on land and they can fly and they never have to pay for anything! Yes, God is good! It’s insane to go through the entire list of birds in the Audubon website and I cannot in good conscience make a lofty assertion that they just happened by chance. I tried to scope out other birds. We all heard a woodpecker doing its thing, but couldn’t find where it was.

The kids had fun exploring. It’s our first time to get this far at this particular park. We live just a few minutes away, but there were parts we never knew existed. It was such a pleasant surprise.

I am still waiting on the first hummingbird to visit my feeder, but on our walk, we saw one. If only I could have taken it with me. It’s interesting how it hovers for a few seconds as if to look at you and just abruptly zooms away. The same thing happened with the one I encountered in my backyard some days ago.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Romans 5:1-2
