Merry Christmas!

My children expressed how much they miss having a tree. I skipped decorating for a couple of years and considering their request, I decided to put one up this year. If this were to be my last Christmas, it would be something the kids would remember. We decorated together and it was fun. When they were younger, I used to decorate by myself and they would wake up to find it already set up. To my knowledge, I’m not dying, but none of us is guaranteed tomorrow.

I forgot all about this little birdie…

And this glitter ball. We don’t pray or bow to the tree and so far, I have not personally known anyone who does that. We haven’t forgotten the very reason Jesus came, that we may live in liberty from the bondage that is sin- “as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice… (1 Peter 2:16)

“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

1 John 2:2

… So much that He came into the world to give us the gift of eternity with the Father.

This gift of eternity becomes validated when we make a conscious decision to receive it (John 3:16). A gift card may have something in it, but without it being activated, its value remains until the recipient decides to use it.

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:17

Merry Christmas everyone!
