The Anchor Of Our Souls

Have you ever heard liberal pastors claim that Christianity is founded on Jesus and not the Bible? If you are currently attending a church with a pastor who says that, find another church.

How to guard yourself from Apostasy:

Build on the Rock

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Matthew 7:24-27

Jesus said, “whoever hears these sayings of Mine…”

Being born during the 20th century (and after) puts us all on a level playing field. None of us were alive at the time the Bible has been compiled and God’s sovereignty allowed for Jesus’ teachings to be recorded in our Bibles today. Believers need to understand that Jesus and the Bible CANNOT be separated. Doing so is the recipe for apostasy. The church is in a steep decline because of this.

People can certainly question the Bible. Every single person has the right to, but to those who do, your quest for objectivity would only be valid when you question and apply equal scrutiny to EVERY single thing that you read about history and everything else. Some have the tendency to believe Scientists who assert there might be life in a distant planet, a place where no one has ever gone to and yet, easily dismiss events that actually happened on the same planet which they live in.

It all then comes down to the question,

Who do you trust?

“He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

Psalm 62:2

“Therefore the Lord GOD said: “Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.”

Isaiah 28:16

  1. Yes–to try to drive a wedge between Jesus and the Bible is silly. Jesus is the Word, and we know him today through the written Word of God. J.

    1. It is silly yet widespread to the effect that the new generation are lining up to Kundalini churchianity and other occult-like practices brought about by the spirit of the age from a Jesus foreign to what is revealed in Scripture, which brings me to the emphasis on today’s verse of the day, that believers must worship in Spirit and in truth – for the Holy Spirit is subject to testify only to what IS written.

“Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.” 2 John 9

Any mainstream Christian sect who runs on a continuation of Jesus’ teachings contrary to the full revelation also falls in this.
