Unquenchable

“A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, ¹⁰ they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

Revelation 14:9-11 NIV

People want to deny the inevitable unfolding of the mark spoken of in this passage. It IS coming whether people believe it or not. This mark is tied to one’s eternal destination—hell. This word is one of the stumbling blocks for people of faith and even unbelievers. Absolutely no one likes the thought of being cast into an unquenchable fire for eternity, not even Satan and his demons (Matthew 8:29-31, Revelation 19:20).

When a person rejects God, he/she automatically chooses the adversary.

Since Jesus Christ is the groom and the church is the bride (Matthew 25:1-13, Ephesians 5:21-33), the groom would want nothing more but pure love and devotion. There would be no sense of people ending up in heaven with God when they have already made their choice here. He cannot force a person who does not love Him to stay with Him forever. People go to the unquenchable fire because He respects their rejection (Romans 1:28, Matthew 23:37).

On their right hand or forehead (Revelation 13:16). Mandate. If you remember these specifics in the event it is being introduced to the world, avoid it like the plague.
