Crochet & Coffee Grounds

Uncertain about being still in the same state, I did not sow any seeds during planting season. However, seeing the lone sunflower grow in the backyard changed my mind. I did not deliberately sow that one. It grew in one of the soil containers earlier this Spring from some seeds that fell from last year’s harvest. It’s pretty late but I decided to start some seeds on coffee grounds just some days ago and happy to see today that it already germinated. The backyard perennials are doing their thing of thriving year after year, though the Chives decided not to bloom, I’m seeing garlic blooms instead.

The constant gray and skyrocketing cost of gasoline make us homebound so I decided to work on a crochet Amigurumi with a sunflower embellishment, a summer edition. You can see the winter one here.

Living in an INGSOC-like society, it’s not surprising that terms like BIPOC and (faer/bunself) unfamiliar terminology are popping up everywhere. I first encountered BIPOC from having visited a woke church’s website here in downtown Salem. It’s truly disappointing to see this in a professing Christian church. People can claim to be inclusive, but this inclusivity is rife with irony since it excludes those who adhere to sound biblical doctrine. I put reacting to this on hold and today happens to be the day since I was reminded of BIPOC just yesterday. The world is indeed getting darker both literally and spiritually.

If the sun doesn’t come out, might as well try to brighten the day in some other way.

Now all has been heard;
    here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
    for this is the duty of all mankind.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
    including every hidden thing,
    whether it is good or evil.

Eclessiastes 12:13-14 NIV
