Freedom To Eat Pork

To celebrate the 4th of July, I decided to make something heavy for dinner, Pork with yellow rice. Do you know how long it has been since I cooked rice? I can’t even remember! My family has decided to cut out rice completely from our diet to ditch some poundage. We figured if we got rid of the culprit, it would make it much easier to stay on track.

Dunno if we would go out to see fireworks. Our previous efforts have always been hampered with torrential rain (happening right now as I look out the window). It seriously never fails. I cannot remember a clear and sunny Independence day since I moved here. I suppose nature has its own celebratory weather for the 4th of July. We always just end up watching some fireworks spectacular on TV.

Being present at some grand 4th of July bash is not the most important thing but the fact that we (still) have the freedom to our inalienable rights which in our present society (if you are observant) happens to be slowly waning. Let us then enjoy our freedom as it slips from us right before our very eyes… At the risk of sounding like a true pessimist, I am only being a realist.

Happy Independence Day everyone!!!

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
